Summer Scholars

An 8 week stipend program. Applications in Fall.

The summer research program provides the opportunity for select undergraduates and medical students to conduct research in the laboratories and clinical services of PCEN members, as well as in affiliated labs. The experience is enriched by dedicated lectures and discussions led by clinical and research faculty, covering various aspects of kidney development, engineering and disease.

Practical research training and mentorship

• Full-time research experience in a lab
• Oral presentation of research findings
• Career development, diversity, and ethics workshops
• Computer and pathology labs
• Journal club

Didactic training

• Participation in Pediatric Nephrology Fellow’s Core Curriculum weekly lecture series
• Research seminars
• Online instruction

Clinical shadowing in pediatric nephrology

• Observe pediatric nephrology clinic
• Attend inpatient rounds
